Sammendrag: The work presented shows in detail how the original multivariate rating
curve regression minimisation problem reduces to the maximisation of a single
argument function. Utilizing that result and reasonable mathematical approaches it
is shown that the frequentist approach to the classical nonlinear least squares rating
curve model rests upon four criteria which the head - discharge measurements
