Fylkesrådet i Viken fylkeskommune vedtok 17.06.2021 tildeling av bygdemiljøpakker til «pilotkommunene» Aremark, Lunner og Rollag for å løse varierte samfunnsfloker i distriktene. For pilotkommunene innebærer tildelingen tilgang til et bredt og tverrfaglig virkemiddelapparat fra Viken fylkeskommune og et tett samarbeid etter en samskapingsmodell. Felles problemstillinger som dukket opp, var knytta til stedsattraktivitet, behov for nye innbyggere og møteplasser, og mobilitet, mens kultur og kulturarv i mindre grad ble trukket fram i utgangspunktet. Gjennom arbeidet med bygdemiljøpakkene har imidlertid kulturarven blitt en innsatsfaktor i arbeidet med å bygge bærekraftige og attraktive bygdemiljø. Avdeling for kulturarv deltar nå med dedikerte mannskapsressurser og en egen, målrettet søknadsordning.

Abstract
On the 17 June 2021, the county council of Viken resolved to grant the municipalities of Aremark, Lunner and Rollag status as “pilot municipalities” in the novel rural community program, aimed at addressing the ‘wicked problems’ facing Viken’s peripheral communities. For the “pilot municipalities” this means access to the broad and multi-disciplinary assets of Viken county and an enhanced collaboration after a co-creation model. Joint challenges for the municipalities include the development of attractive places, population growth and community meeting grounds, and mobility. Culture and cultural heritage initially received less emphasis. As the processes progressed, cultural heritage proved to be a potent resource in the development of sustainable and attractive local communities. The Department of Cultural Heritage has come to participate with dedicated manpower and grants.
