Innhold:Abstract
Like many countries, Norway is experiencing a depletion of biodiversity and nature areas. A feasibility study completed in spring 2020 investigated the interest for implementing and testing two relatively unknown land management tools in Norway: eco-accounts and area-banks. Based on qualitative interviews, the study also explored the object’s opinions on challenges and benefits arising from a possible municipal responsibility for these two tools. Both tools build upon ecological compensation in connection with new construction projects resulting in negative consequences for the environment. Through qualitative interviews, a total of 15 key professionals in this field participated in the study. The results show that even though challenges exist and can be identified, the tools investigated were of interest to the interviewees and thought to harbour potential in supporting more sustainable land management.

Innledning
En av de viktigste årsakene til det pågående tapet av naturmangfold både globalt og i Norge er arealendringer i form av inngrep i leveområder for planter og dyr.
