Innhold:Abstract
The topic of this article is cadastral records of older cases conducted by the Norwegian land consolidation court. The analytical framework is based on historical institutionalism. The methods used are a case study based on literature review, a document study, and a questionnaire survey. The data were analyzed using content analysis and descriptive statistics. The main findings are that the land consolidation court and the cadastral authority have operated according to different logics. Initially, the land consolidation court was obliged to map and position the verdicts. Several legislative amendments in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries relieved the requirements for mapping and positioning. This may have been a contributing factor to the lack of cadastral records in some cases processed by the land consolidation court. Furthermore, it is recommended the ministries involved initiate and cover the costs of cadastral registration of old cases carried out by the land consolidation court.
