The article argues that legal research methods focused on case analysis should draw on experience and methods for scenario analysis developed in other social sciences in order to avoid reproducing researcher bias and better secure two fundamental values in research: transparency and the strife for objectivity. Based on a comprehensive study of scenario methodology, a grafting of legal method and scenario method is presented as a new way to study law. The method is of particularly good use for researchers interested in how legal systems function during exceptional circumstances.
