For organizations the world over, organizational change is an important strategic maneuver in the pursuit of efficiency and cost cutting. For employees, engaging in change at work can be both draining and rewarding and therefore influence the risk of sickness absence in different directions. In this article, I will discuss the road from organizational change to employee sickness absence (both more and less) and the ways in which the work environment impinges on these pathways. Based on the literature review, salient avenues for future research are also outlined.
