Innhold:Abstract
This paper examines Talent Management (TM) as a strategic imperative in the banking sector, emphasizing its critical role in sustaining organizational performance amidst rapid technological advancements and heightened regulatory demands. Drawing from theoretical frameworks such as social exchange theory, equity theory, and self-determination theory, the study explores the unique challenges faced by banks, including talent scarcity, retention difficulties, and motivational complexities. It highlights the duality of TM approaches – exclusive strategies targeting high-potential individuals and inclusive practices leveraging the broader workforce – and their application in specialized roles such as compliance, risk management, and digital transformation. A proposed TM model integrates strategic foundations with localized implementation, emphasizing stakeholder engagement, equitable practices, and capacity building. Insights from a systematic literature review underscore the need for rigorous, theory-driven research to advance TM practices in banking. The findings offer actionable recommendations for aligning organizational goals with employee aspirations, fostering trust, and ensuring sustainable competitive advantage. This study contributes to the broader discourse on TM by providing a robust framework adaptable to the dynamic and regulated landscape of the banking industry.
